Single-Family Homes Built With Structural Insulated Panels

The Insulspan® SIP System has proven again and again to be an industry-leading sustainable solution for building residential homes in the U.S. and Canada. Homeowners who choose SIPs are opting for a higher quality structure with increased energy efficiency that reduces their energy bills. Homeowners also benefit from a tight energy envelope which eliminates drafts and creates more consistent interior temperatures.

Contractors choose to build homes with Insulspan SIPs because of our industry-leading Ready-to-Assemble (RTA) system, which makes building easier and faster. SIPs also make it easy to meet even the most stringent building codes. Learn more about the benefits to builders.

Primary Benefits of Building Residential Homes With Insulspan SIPs:

Stick Framing vs. SIP Structures

Our SIP wall and roof assemblies contain less dimensional lumber than a typical residential stick-framed home. In stick frame construction, thermal bridging occurs between the insulation each time a wood stud is present. This leaves more than 20% of the home’s wall area uninsulated. In contrast, Insulspan wall and roof assemblies directly address thermal bridging with a continuous core of EPS insulation and limited lumber. SIPs are therefore able to provide higher R-values and lower energy bills versus traditional stick frame constructed homes. Learn More
