Insulspan Homes are Worth More
Our INSULSPAN SIP wall and roof panels, combined
with energy-efficient windows plus heating and cooling systems is
an excellent way to meet most of the key requirements of energy
performance standards.
A stick frame building must be subjected to
a "Blower Door Test" to verify the structures tightness.
Insulspan SIPs do NOT require this test due to their inherent tightness.
INSULSPAN SIPs meets requirements for natural resource conservation
through the extensive use of engineered wood.
The ultimate proof of the worth and value of an energy-efficient
home is at the time of sale or resale. The Appraisal Institute has
studied this issue and determined that energy efficient homes, sell
for significantly more in the market place. New guidelines for appraisers
have been issued suggesting that for each $1 of documented energy
savings in an energy efficient home the appraised value of the home
can be increased by $20.
For example, looking at an home that
saves $720 in annual energy costs, using the Appraisal Institute's
Guidelines this home would appraise for $14,400 more than an identical
house that only meets Code requirements.
($20 x $720 = $14,400)
